Nortex provides and maintains state-of-the-art 9-1-1 equipment and software to the Public Safety Answering Points
(PSAP) at law enforcement offices in our region. The equipment allows call takers to answer and process 9-1-1 calls in an efficient and effective manner.
Each PSAP is equipped with both automatic and stand-alone Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) that enables call takers to communicate with both verbal and hearing-impaired callers.
If a 9-1-1 caller does not speak English, the call taker will connect the caller with the Language Line service so an interpreter can relay information and requests for assistance.
