9-1-1 Technology

Nortex provides and maintains state-of-the-art equipment and software to the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) at law enforcement offices in our region. The equipment allows telecommunicators to answer and process 9-1-1 calls in an efficient and effective manner.

Each PSAP is equipped with both automatic and stand-alone Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) that enables telecommunicators to communicate with the hearing and speech impaired callers.

If a 9-1-1 caller does not speak English, the telecommunicator will connect the caller with the Language Translation service so an interpreter can relay information and requests for assistance.
